OK, is checking the turn a mistake here? My thinking was after he c/r flop and now checks turn he has probably given up on the hand or has some marginal hand and he wanted to take it down on the flop. So I decide to check back and give him the opportunity to bluff the river.

It's not the greatest river for me, but it's a pretty good river for villain to bluff at.

Thoughts?

I'm not sure. The flop is pretty dry so I'm not sure I get it in when I'm ahead very often.

I think fold river, otherwise this looks ok. I don't think raising flop is wise, it just allows him to fold out his Jx. I don't see why we should expect this guy to stack a jack on flop.

I think if you're gonna have a 3-bet range vs MP you should go a little bit larger. You're repping a pretty strong range here so implied odds are actually a factor. Also, his range is likely to be very strong anyway so I doubt you'll get much fold equity with a bluff for 4.50.


I think on the turn you kind of free-roll yourself vs his check, especially if you intend to call a river shove. For example, if he holds KQ on the turn, your check is massively bad because he's unlikely to bluff rivers he misses or to even pay off a big bet if he improves to top pair. So you just relinquish 10% of the pot + 10% of your stack when he has KQ.


That said, you may just be in such bad shape vs his range that the turn is a check, with the river either being a fold or a crying call.


It should be noted that his flop check raise is VERY weird. Not even KK is strong enough to c/r there legitimately, as it will be a clear dog to your range that bet calls and calls a turn shove. Some players in his position will have 99 every single time.






I guess I'd bet like 13 on the turn for protection and value. I'd probably fold the river for a few simple reasons having to do with you having a one pair hand and he reasonably representing a hand stronger than one pair and having relatively few bluffs when his primary flop bluffing hand (KQ) gets there.

I think that it would be the best decision if you raised to all-in on the flop.
About your play in this hand I think that checking the turn is mistake, because with that move you gave him an opportunity to make a straight or to bluff you.
About your call on the river I disagree, for me would be better if you go fold.

Besides what renton said you should also see his MP FT3B,not the overall.OOP and MP w/ a low 4b he could have both 99/JJ on flop.
Ih he has a low MP FT3B then bet flop biger like 7 since his range has QT/Jx which he aint folding or he c/r vs a small bey and gets you in tough spots like this

looks like a fold to me. hes already made his hand JJ or 99 pre flop. made his trips and then checked waiting on u to make half good hand to bet u up. nobody likes folding aces. y didn't u reraise flop. also u checked back giving him another card.

The hand was played fine up to the river where folding is likely best. However, if villain is too loose and aggressive, then getting more money in earlier in the hand seems best.

If villain is to loose/aggressive - then get more aggressive on flop and turn. He is likely to stack off lighter.

You should fold on the river, in my view villian is holding a hand greater than the Two pair or a set and checking on Turn is very bad decision, giving him an extra card to complete his draw.

river is gross because I have KQ in my range here along with sets, JT sometimes, never QT , T9 is possible if I have a backdoor flush draw to barrel.. that river makes a lot of my check raising range nut up vs. your 3bet range and villains stats are close to what I would play. I don't really like a call.
